Officer & Director Bios
Sham Sao, Board Chairman & President
Sham provides overall leadership to NETSEA in the capacity of President and Chairman of the Board. He currently serves as Global Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Deploy Solutions, an enterprise software company in the HR solutions market. Prior to joining Deploy, he served as VP of Marketing & Business Development for InfoLenz, an analytical CRM enterprise software company located in Cambridge, MA. Before joining InfoLenz, he was Vice President of Marketing at Partnerware, an enterprise software company delivering extended enterprise Partner Relationship Management solutions to Fortune 500 customers. He also served as Director of Marketing and Business Development at Trilogy Software. Prior to Trilogy, Sham was as an Engagement Manager serving high-tech clients at the leading global management consultancy, McKinsey & Company. He has spoken at numerous CRM trade shows, conferences, and national events including DCI and VAR Vision (a Gartner Group event). He also serves on the Board of Directors of InfoLenz, Inc. Sham holds a BS degree in Computer Science & Mathematics and BA in Economics from Yale University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed his graduate work at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, earning a JD in high-tech law.
Thor Johnson, Board Director & Marketing Chair
Thor provides leadership in marketing and member communications for NETSEA. Outside of NETSEA, Thor leads marketing at Eloqua Corporation, the premier supplier
of marketing automation software for B2B marketers. In that role,
Eloqua has more than quadrupled in size over two years. Prior to
joining Eloqua, Thor headed the Boston and New York business units of
AGENCY.COM as President, and held positions at Juno Online Services and
Schlumberger. Thor holds a degree from Brown University and an M.B.A.
from Harvard University.
Michael K. Barron, Partner, DLA Piper
Michael K. Barron serves as NETSEA's Legal Chair and Secretary. Outside of NETSEA, Michael focuses his legal practice on representing early and later stage biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, software, internet and technology companies and investors in such companies. He counsels clients on corporate formation, corporate transactional and intellectual property matters and has particular experience working with clients on early stage financings (angel, venture and strategic), mergers and acquisitions, licensing (software, technology, and biotech), and trademark matters.
Mr. Barron has served as the legal advisor for numerous common stock and preferred stock private placements for early stage companies. He handled private placements of a biotech company's common stock, which netted gross proceeds for the company of over $200 million. Mr. Barron has also represented numerous clients in the sale of their businesses, including the recent sale of an internet focused marketing company to a Fortune 50 company.
In 1995, Mr. Barron founded the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX), a trade association which serves more than 6,000 New England professionals involved in internet and digital technologies. Mr. Barron currently serves as the General Counsel of MITX and on its Executive Committee.

Todd McCarthy, Board Director - Finance Chair & Treasurer
Todd is one of the founders of NETSEA and currently serves as the Treasurer. He is a Managing Partner at Matlin Partners. Previously, he was a Partner in the High Technology Practice of Heidrick & Struggles and received the Heidrick & Struggles World Wide International Technology Practice "Rookie of the Year" Award for 2000. His practice is focused on CEO, CFO, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing as well as Vice President of Business Development positions. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Todd worked for the Venture Capital firm of TechInspirations, where he focused on 'go-2-market' strategies for portfolio companies. Previously he served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Restrac, Inc., now Webhire, and the leading provider of human resource staffing solutions. As one of the key officers at Restrac, he was responsible for all sales revenue, which nearly tripled in 2 years, enabling Restrac to complete a successful IPO in 1996. Additionally, Todd was the Vice President of Sales at Saratoga Systems, a leading provider of CRM solutions. He began his software career with MSA and Software 2000. Prior to his professional business career, he served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps. Todd earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Merrimack College. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University with a specialization in high-tech. Todd currently teaches the New Venture Creation course as an Adjunct Professor, to MBA students at Northeastern University's business school.
Lauren J. Kelley - Board Director & Membership Chair
Lauren brings 20 years experience in the technology industry to her new role as Membership Chair for NETSEA. She has built highly productive sales, marketing and operations for software and hardware companies in the US and internationally.
Currently Lauren is building OpeXengine, a business information service for growing and competitive technology companies to provide operating expense metrics and benchmarks to help maximize profitability and revenue growth in today’s dynamic business environment.
Prior to that, she was CEO of Synopia, Inc. a PLM software company and an Executive-in-Residence at GrandBanks Capital, a Softbank-funded venture capital fund focused on east coast technology companies. From 1996 through 2002, she was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Strategic Development at Art Technology Group, Inc., a $100M internet platform and applications vendor based in Cambridge, MA. Previously, she was General Manager at Borland International, based in Paris, managing Borland's business in approximately 20 countries. In addition, Lauren was a sales and marketing manager with Compaq Computer's European executive team where she built Compaq's business in Eastern Europe through an active channel and wholly-owned subsidiaries. Earlier in Lauren's career, she was an international economist with the US Department of Commerce, responsible for the US supercomputer industry. Lauren holds a B.A. in political science and German area studies from Tufts University as well as a M.I.A. in international political economy from Columbia University. She is on the board of advisors of Acteon Technologies, a budgeting software vendor for the mid-market, and was previously an advisor to DataPower, prior to its acquisition by IBM.
Dan O'Connor, Board Director - Business Development Chair
Dan provides leadership in the business development and sponsorship
activities at NETSEA. Dan is currently a Managing Partner at Matlin Partners an executive search & consulting firm, and was formerly Senior Vice President, Business Development &
Alliances for eXcelon Corporation, (NASDAQ EXLN), an enterprise data
management software company, and Senior Vice President & General Manager
(eXcelon Division), Burlington, MA. While at eXcelon, Dan was responsible
for M&A activity, building business development alliances, indirect channel
partnerships, and the supporting organization worldwide. Dan drove the
acquisition of Transformis LLP. Prior to joining eXcelon Corporation, Dan
was Vice President & General Manager for Borland International, an
enterprise software development company located in Scotts Valley, CA. Dan
had P&L responsibility for several international subsidiaries. Before
joining Borland, Dan was the National Manager, Major Account Business for
Ashton-Tate Corporation, a database company, maker of dBASE, located in
Torrance, CA. Dan is also a member of the Commercial Board of Advisors of
Resinate Corporation, Andover MA., a Design Chain Optimization Software
company. In addition, Dan is an active consultant and serves as an outside
advisor to a local Boston area Venture Capital firm.

Steve Silva, VP of Sales Executive Networking
Steve is the VP in charge of NETSEA's sales executive networking events. Through these events, Steve helps our members share best practices and build relationships with peers. Steve is the founder of Sellerity, a management consulting firm that provides sales consulting services. Sellerity helps companies increase growth by streamlining how they sell, and by uncovering hidden opportunities at major accounts. With over 25 years of experience managing and training sales forces, Steve has lead domestic and international teams at Fortune 500 companies (Tektronix) and start-ups (database company from Finland). At a software tools company acquired by Motorola, he created their strategic accounts program, and grew sales 600% in two years. Mr. Silva earned a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an MBA from Syracuse University. He is also Six Sigma trained through Raytheon.
Outside his business, Steve is Chairman of a local Boy Scout troop, an officer for Toastmasters, and a founding member of the Boston Business Exchange.
Renee Aisenberg, VP of Volunteers
Renee serves as VP of Volunteers for NESTEA and is Principal of R.B. Aisenberg Consulting. She has over 20 years of experience building award-winning inside sales organizations and has a consulting practice providing service and support in all areas of Tele-Operations. She has been recognized for her pioneering, methodical approach to building overachieving sales organizations. Renee has built teams performing all aspects of Tele-Operations including automated demand generation, lead qualification, business development and inside sales at early-stage start-ups such as Spinnaker Software to billion-dollar corporation like Sybase, in addition to companies including Leading Edge, IONA Technologies, and OpenPages.
Ian Finley, VP of Marketing Executive Networking
Ian is the VP in charge of NETSEA's executive networking events. With these events, Ian helps our members build both personal and professional relationship with their peers. Ian provides marketing consulting services to area software companies through his independent consultancy. Ian has 19 years experience in software marketing, development and investment. Through May 2005, Ian was vice president of marketing for Formation Systems, a provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions to the process industries. In 1999, he co-founded Longworth Venture Partners, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage software and service companies. During the early days of the Internet era, he managed product marketing at Open Market where he helped establish the company as a leading e-commerce software vendor. Prior to Open Market, Ian was a key architect of Marcam Corporation's acclaimed client-server enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Prior to Marcam, Ian helped lead a small business software and hardware company in the Netherlands. Ian graduated from Williams College with a degree in Computer Science.
Chad Johnson, VP of Membership and Prospect Database Management
Chad currently oversees the Direct to Consumer business at LoJack Corporation as well as identifying new product opportunities for the company. Previously he was the Director of CRM at Solidworks Corporation, a manufacturer of product design software. Before returning to the client side, Chad spent 10 years managing consulting practices and client relationships at Xchange Applications, Digitas, and Epsilon working with Fortune 500 companies improving their planning, execution and assessment of marketing programs. Prior to that Chad helped Talbots and client's of Amergent develop large scale marketing databases. Mr. Johnson holds a BA in Mass communications from Emerson College and an MBA from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, Babson College.
John Ryan, VP Marketing & Quarterly Events
John orchestrates the quarterly meetings and advises on the social and
professional networking aspects of NETSEA. He is currently employed at Philips Medical Systems in Andover, MA as Senior Product Manager for Motiva, Philips' interactive platform for population health management. Prior to Philips, John worked as Product Manager at Aspen Technology, bringing to market the Aspen Enterprise Platform, an integration solution that was deployed at over 100 locations worldwide. Prior to AspenTech, John was a consultant at McKinsey & Co. and Deloitte & Touche, focusing on operational and strategic issues for clients in the high technology, health care, and manufacturing industries. John holds an MBA from Kellogg, a M.S. in Industrial Engineering as applied to Health Systems from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.A. from SUNY Albany, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Steve Harper, VP Marketing & Quarterly Events
Steven orchestrates the quarterly meetings and advises on the social and professional networking aspects of NETSEA. Steven is a Certified Sales Coach, and President of Sharper Performance llc., Sales Performance Consultants. He works with clients to build sales organizations that drive new business, build deeper relationships with their existing clients, and execute on plan. His background includes EchoMail where he was Worldwide Vice President of Sales and Business Development, Exodus Communications, where he was Regional Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Exodus Canada, and BBN Planet / Genuity where he was the Sr. Web Hosting Specialist. He also ran North and South American sales for IME Systems, where in 1994; he was a speaker at the "opening" of the Internet in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Scott, VP Business Development
Scott is the VP in charge of Business Development and in that capacity is responsible for planning and executing NETSEA's fundraising and sponsorship activities. Scott is also the VP of Business Development for IntelliVid, a venture-backed software company focused on the video analysis market. Scott brings 17 total years of experience in the consulting and software industries, with extensive leadership experience in both business development and consulting management roles.
Previously Scott has led Business Development activities at OATSystems, Novell, and Cambridge Technology Partners. Prior to those roles, Scott served as Director, eCommerce Solutions for CTP Americas, and as a Client Partner with CTP São Paulo. Prior to CTP, Scott held a variety of consulting leadership roles over an eight-year career with IBM/Lotus Development Corporation.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Tufts University and speaks four languages.

Terry Coleman, Founder
Terry Coleman is one of NETSEA's founders and served for many years on its board of directors. Terry currently runs a consulting practice providing services in sales management, sales process and metrics analysis, sales channel strategy development, compensation planning and business development to software, high tech and various specialty business sectors. Clients have included Forrester Research, Empirical Software, Progress Software, Launch International, Bear Paw Group and Essex River Works. Prior to founding The Coleman Group, Terry held various senior staff positions with Cognos Corporation, Pilot Software, Bachman Information Systems, Sonic Software and Mega International. As VP of Sales she built sales organizations, both domestic and international, with field based and inside sales units, utilizing multiple channel strategies including partner operations. She was an early proponent and pioneer of inside sales, building Cognos Direct and numerous other inside sales organizations in businesses ranging from $2M startups to $125M public companies. She was awarded "Rookie of the Year" in her first sales job, as well as "U.S. Manager of the Year by Cognos." After an undergraduate focus on the arts, Terry was awarded a Master of Science degree in Information Resource Management from Syracuse University.
Steve Percoco, Founder
Stephen Percoco founded NETSEA with a mission to create a peer group and network to assist sales, business development, and marketing executives with the day-to-day challenges involved in driving revenues. As acting President, Steve provides leadership in developing NETSEA's value. Stephen founded NETSEA because, "There is simply no forum, geared towards sales executives in New England, that facilitates the sharing of valuable information, help finds ways to resolve common sales challenges, and works to develop an active peer group". Stephen is currently VP of Global Sales at Deploy Solutions. Previously, he was VP of Sales at SmartTime. Prior to joining SmartTime, Steve held a series of international sales and operations management positions with Swissair, developing the industry's first online, virtual sales organization. Steve's achievements in sales have been published in numerous sales publications including Sales and Marketing Management, Mass High Tech, and ComputerWorld. Steve holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Providence College.
Brian Murphy, Founder
Brian Murphy, VP, North America for Deltek, brings more than 16 years of enterprise sales leadership, in both enterprise applications and infrastructure technology. Applications such as B2B Sell-Side Configuration, Content Management, CRM and ERP, and infrastructure technologies including Enterprise Web 2.0, integration services, object database technology and integrated middleware. Prior to joining Deltek, Murphy held senior sales and sales management positions at software and technology services companies, including Excelon Corporation (f.k.a. Object Design, Inc.), Fourthchannel, IONA Technologies, Nexaweb, Pindar Systems and Selectica, Inc. Brian is a founder and former officer of the New England Technology Sales, Marketing and Business Development Executives Association (NETSEA). He holds a BA from Texas A&M University and served in the United States Marine Corps.

Barbara Bix, Principal, BB Marketing Plus
A seasoned marketing consultant, Barbara earned her stripes at EMC, Motorola, GE, and Wang and has an MBA from the Wharton School. Over the last 10 years, she has helped more than 75 local companies accelerate their sales processes and discover new opportunities to increase revenues. Her clients include high-tech, health care, and professional services firms ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. An expert at articulating effective marketing strategies, Barbara has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and her articles have appeared in the Boston Business Journal, Mass High-Tech, Effective Clinical Practices, Health Care Review, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Women's Business, and online at www.marketingprofs.com and www.raintoday.com. Barbara serves on the Health Care Advisory Board for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, and is a member of the Medical Development Group and Women in Health Care Management. She volunteers as an Appalachian Mountain Club trip leader and as a strategic business advisor to non-profits (as a member of Community Consulting Teams).
Christine Lauzon, Managing Partner at Sales Resource Group
Christine Lauzon is a Managing Partner at Sales Resource Group (SRG), a firm that specializes in helping technology companies find and hire top performing sales professionals, in the northeast, since 1999.
Prior to SRG, Christine spent 12 years in high tech sales/management, where she had a consistent track record of over achievement, working for both startup and Fortune 500 Companies. Christine has a passion for working with true sales talent, and enjoys helping both individuals and companies grow through successful matches.
Dawn N. McKinley, Consultant, Treeline, Inc.
Dawn N. McKinley is a consultant in the technology division at Treeline, Inc., one of the area's fastest growing executive search firms. Treeline specializes in recruiting sales professionals for positions in the technology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, financial, and business-to-business industries. Prior to joining Treeline, she served as an account executive with AppleOne Employment, a full service recruiting agency.
In addition to her recruiting expertise, McKinley has several years of sales, marketing, and leadership experience in the financial arena, in positions of increasing responsibility.
Most recently, she served as managing director of AmeriFirst, Inc, and as president of its subsidiary, AmeriFirst Funding Group, Inc. Previously, she worked for two Las Vegas-based securities firms that specialize in real estate investments, Vestin Capital and Global Express Securities, Inc. As well, she has held sales and marketing positions at Prudential Securities and Merrill Lynch.
Earlier in her career, she served as a research assistant at John Quillen East Tennessee State University Medical School, and conducted clinical research at Harvard Medical School, where she had several papers published.
McKinley holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Biology from Boston's Simmons College.
Tina Teodorescu, M.A. Organizational Behavior Management, Certified Performance Technologist (CPT)
Tina has a master's degree in organizational behavior analysis, is a certified performance technologist, is registered as an Empire Who's Who of Executives and Professionals, and has 15 years experiences in a range of industry segments with multiple fortune 1000 companies. During this time, she has worked with dozens of sales managers and hundreds of sales reps to analyze and replicate top sales performance and build, support, and maintain the sales results that her clients need to consistently meet and exceed their sales and organizational goals.
Since 2003, she has served as President and principle consultant of Competence Systems a sales performance consulting firm delivering systematic, measurable, and sustainable sales performance improvement systems.
The results based approach that Tina uses enables her clients to replicate top level performance, decrease variability in performance, remove obstacles to top-level performance, and align divisions, teams, and individual performance with corporate goals.
Tina regularly publishes articles and speaks at regional and international association meetings and conferences.
